Cork Hurlers - Part 2

I didn't see it, but my husband was watching them when it happened and he says the same. Absolutely fuck all in it. Hayes ? playing for a card against Dalton.

I wonder what they feeling is in Limerick about Hayes this week. A lot of Limerick people I've spoken to weren't that happy about him being on the panel post conviction but after this carry on last Saturday and then conceding the penalty I wonder is he looking like more trouble than he's worth.
No chance that's true

On his day Hayes is unplayable, who wouldn't want their best players on their team, I understand he's a target given the court case

The penalty is what any player would have done, take one for the team and hope the keeper saves it, I've done it myself and I bet anyone on here that played any team sport would say the same

It is. My mother is from Limerick (I know, the shame!) and I've heard it from a good few of her extended family.

I absolutely appreciate that lots of people would want him to play, and FWIW I don't think that he should be barred from playing because of his conviction. If it was a Cork player and they were as good as he is, I would probably want them on the pitch too.

How Daly suffered on the Saturday Game,,it was killing him to say something positive about Cork, he absolutely hates the site of
the red jersey. His article today was mainly about Limerick, Kilkenny and Carlow. He's some baldy bollox.
The miserable prick.. he was wincing having to acknowledge a great victory, then straight into de well dey need to fo it again against Tipp Jacqui.. thanks for stating the blatantly obvious baldy

It was pretty much right in front of us in section 408, it was shithousery of the highest order from Hayes and he was rightly ridiculed for it. Hayes went to the line to get water and a message from the Limerick water/hurley carrier, Dalton joined him and stepped in between the two, Hayes, already rattled at that stage, didn't like it and the two had a few words before Hayes suddenly dropped to the ground without any hands being raised towards him, clearly suffering from severe lightning fast paralysis to his legs, he remained prone and enjoyed a rub of his balls for a minute. It didn't work and Dalton won the battle.
The booing Hayes received was because two whole sections of Cork supporters witnessed it. Limerick fans next to us were quite frankly embarrassed by it.
Hayes also left the boot in on SB's ribs which left him needing treatment. If it was any other player in the country (apart from Gillane) I'd 100% call it an accident and move on but those two feckers are as dirty as they come.

Unfortunately one family's opinion isn't representative of an entire county.

He is a bould fucker but when I was 19 the fighting at the weekends was a hell of a lot worse than today

That's not to condone the entire sorry episode or his part in it

They've been on the road a while now and my gut tells me we're starting to burn oil.A few young lads have stated their case in the forwards but for me the fulcrum of our side has been the half back line.
Hannon I believe is on his last legs, maybe a case for Cathal O Neill at center back, I dunno.Byrnes hasn't been himself this year and Hayes should be played at center forward.
They owe us nothing, we're extremely proud of them and if we manager to get 5 then fair play..if not they will still go down as one of the greatest teams.
Hopefully we'll get another crack at ye later on, and if we don't win the AI then I hope Cork win it.
I posted here many times including last week that Limerick are on the ropes and there for the taking, but like real champions they are using all the reserves they have in the tank get across the line, none more so than Cian Lynch who has dragged them back from the death many times.
Saturday night they didn’t go down easy and contributed to an epic, a game for the ages.
Round 2 in the summer has the potential to be one of the games of this century.
