I had my doubts about Brian Hayes but I'm glad he's proving me wrong. His attitude and directness particularly today has been very encouraging.

Alan Connolly looks like the real deal. He has that X factor Fantastic temperament.

Tim O'Mahony overly casual at times today I thought.

People right him off every year, myself included, but Meade is fairly consistently good for us.

Meade is man to come on in the last 15 when players are wilting, not tight enough. The bench is Limerick where is becomes a fist fight. You know this , we all know this . Then why do fellas get out their sledge and try to hammer that Square peg into the Round hole.

So many players of similar capability makes it tough for Ryan to pick first 15. I think team won’t be too far off following…. I’d like to persist with TOM at center back, freeing up CJ to midfield. Coleman at midfield when he’s fit. …Collins, NOL, DC, ED, Millerick, TOM, RD, Coleman, CJ, Dalton, Harnedy, Fitzgibbon, JOC, Connolly, Hayes Subs… Meade, SOD,Hoggy, BR, CL, Twomey , TOC, Barrett.

Offaly were terrible, really poor, good work out for players coming back from long lay offs.

Some areas of concern, mostly around handling and poor decision making but that can be worked on.

I said here SOD would struggle to nail down a CB spot and that the trio of Hoggy Hardedy and Lehane ) will be put out to pasture with Cameo performances. Looks like I am being proven right once again. Ryan will go with a younger team than expected for Championship. Tim at half back won't work, can't defend distribution is suspect. Moving him from pillar to post is Nonsensical.

TOM gained confidence as game progressed. He has the hurling, agility and toughness, and is good enough for this Cork team. Ryan knows what he’s doing and I have full confidence in him!
