Cork Hurlers - Part 2

Dead leg apparently. Normally not serious enough to be long term but there can be complications with a very bad one.
They can be very hard to judge recovery times.
Was it 2023 our first league match in Feb against Limerick in the Pairc. Robbie O’Flynn got a bad ankle injury, but he was back sooner than Sean O’D who got a dead leg the same night.
I’m sure it was something like 14 weeks out for Sean, he missed the first 2 rounds of Munster with it.
If Darragh does have an injury hopefully it’s minor and back soon.

Thanks for that. Dose for him, and Charleville. Same thing TOM had, wasn't it?
It’s the same injury that Jack Crowley has and if it doesn’t clear in the first month it can be serious It is usually caused by by a knock into the quadriceps that damages the main blood vessel It was the same injury that Tim o Mahony had and the cork physiotherapist told me at the time it was one of the worst he had seen. Hopefully this is not too serious as most of them come good within the first few weeks

Always find Hoggys articles a thinly veiled cut at BOC’s setup.

Lamenting Pat Ryan being removed prematurely and talking about the farcical situation of the backroom changes.

Where is JimmyBarrySmurph these times? He was a good man to call things out like this.

Place here needs the preseason to start in October!
The past is the past - some of what Hoggie says is similar to people's opinions here.
Hoggy also prob didn't want to retire but knew it was the only way to go on his terms.
He's still very close to numerous players in camp.

As regards back room I imagine we all know people who got the chop that were there 10 plus years whether it be through clubs or mutually. Those in the backroom that weren't involved with coaching/selecting I see no reason why get rid of them.

Hoggy aint far from the truth, Limerick have been so consistent in their retention of management , easy to do when you’re winning i hear ye say, but Limerick backed Kiely at the end of 2017, he was half expecting ti be sacked, and were rewarded in 2018, in hindsight we should have done the same thing with Pat Ryan in 2025

These are the sliding moment decisions that make all the difference

The backroom wipe out by Ben was extreme but understandable once he took over, what you do lose with a cull like that is trust within the group which was built up over the last decade.

In hindsight Ben might have been better off keeping the backroom staff for stability especially given all the changes in management this time last year and now again 12 months later

Some here have expressed doubts about CON but for the most part I wouldn't consider the rest of his main opinions to be along the same lines as some of the prevailing opinions on here.
For starters he clearly states that the squad currently assembled are the best players available.
Post SF there was a concerted push here to have a whole generation of players culled from the panel because they were "psychologically damaged" or some such nonsense.
He's clearly calling out the CB as opposed to managers, the CB alone are responsible for the lack of continuity.
He's also calling out a lack of trust and interference from the county board when managers are in place.

That's pretty unsettling imo - not only do managers have to deal with the gigantic pressure of running the Cork team, they and their backroom teams also have to watch their back with the CB.

Is it not an open secret that they wanted PR to change up his backroom team and "retire" some players?

Gas that people here then think BOC had a choice about keeping the backroom team that the CB told PR they wanted removed

Yet another example of your support of BOC 😉

sweet jesus, is this kindergarten or what? its not that difficult to understand, saying keeping Pat Ryan as manager has nothing to do with Ben, the second I heard tho board screwed this up I said on here Ben is the only man to replace him

But you seem to have your mind made up on what i think, which is ok cause thats your opinion, but the lack of objectively in your replies to me on this is getting tedious
