The players felt huge pressure and expectation and when the going got tough in both games lacked the composure to stay in the game.

They were thinking Limerick were gone so it was an easy all ireland for us

Five minutes before half-time was when Cahalane was booked. He had been doing well on his opponent up until that juncture and then had to play it safe until halftime. It was reminiscent of last year's AI with Downey, unlike Cahalane, not a natural FB, being found out. Unfortunately, Cahalane has always mixed the good with brainfarts and his yellow on this occasion was very costly.Just watched the game back, the 5 minutes before half time were huge for Galway, 4 point swing left just 1 between us and then the opening 10minutes of the second half they pulverised us

Game even enough still, cork beginning to overplay ball in full backline, Duds had a great goal chance, game starting to open up

Jez when I follow the game through that analysis it doesn’t seem too bad…. The reality being in the stadium was that Galway were hunting every breaking ball like men possessed and our poor lads were shell shocked in the second half.
