Cork Hurlers - Part 2

Agendas aside. What was Plan B the last day?

Say we park the game, and we need to reveal a plan should we meet them again and it's tight, what's the plan if we need to do 'something' in the last 15 to 20 minutes to give us 1 to 2 extra points?
Push 3 up in the front line and do a Pat Ryan on it. Im not against a long ball it just needs to be one plan in a series of possible plans. No shade on Ryan but we didnt have a plan B and Tipp came up with a plan to total neuter our Plan A.

He would not have been able to score that free direct
Not what I'm arguing for really, Limerick might be less inclined to sacrifice frees out the field if a long free specialist was on the pitch. I remember a similar concern we had when playing Tipp in the round robin after seeing what Eoghan Connolly did for Tipp in the league, striking 4 from distance.

It's a moot point as he was injured, I'm thinking more about if we have to go through that again then what's the plan.

Lesson learned, won't bring it up again.

In fairness as you said it’s a pointless argument, Dalton was injured last week so he had as much a chance at taken a free as Christy Ring.

The weekly Dalton debate needs to stop management don’t fancy him and that’s the end of it.

IMO he should be on the panel as I think he offers something different and could be a wild card in a tight game but they have made the decision and the rest of us just need to live with it and move on.

Not conceding scores is the central part of this teams philosophy and employing mobile players that can get up and down the pitch for 75mins+ is how they are going to achieve that, unfortunately Declan doesn’t fit that profile.

As a result we aren’t going to see the swashbuckling forward play we did under Pat Ryan, it’s more pragmatic but it’s repeatable and that could be what finally gets these guys over the line.
