His findings vindicate Corks view on the referee. Of the 50/50s, missed decisions and incorrect decisions he counted 12-5 in Limericks favor.

Thats a huge factor in determining the outcome.

If it was 12-5 the other way around we would have won by 7 or 8 points!
Just 50/50 parity would have seen us win by 3 or 4 probably.
Which is the way the game was going a couple times until Owens decided to give everything to Limerick for two 10 minute spells.

So in total, 12 dubious calls for Limerick. Thats huge. And thats what we saw but good to have this data to back it up.

And thats before considering Malachy Clerkin is no fan of Cork.

I went and read it.... you've pulled figures out of your backside. You also fail to mention he thought Limerick should have had a penalty. Not sure if you worked that into your 7 or 8 point Cork win.

Cork were marginally done by the ref was his take away but you've turned it into the worst case of officiating in the history of the GAA

One thing we are brilliant at in cork is picking a couple of players, hounding them for their careers and then about 5 years after they retire saying "God if we only had him now".

100% , Collins, Coleman, Cahalane, O'Donoghue for example.
O'Donoghue got an all star last year so it's noticeable people can't criticise him as much now so have moved onto others.

Connolly may not have had his best day in a Cork jersey on Sunday, but contrary to the narrative on here he worked his ass off, and he nailed frees in difficult conditions.

People very quickly forgetting that he was brilliant v Limerick in the RR game.

I can only conclude that people's opinions on Connolly are influenced by the fact that he doesn't go around apologising for his mere existence.

The same can't be said for Aidan O'Connor in the same conditions. I think the stats on Connolly are that he missed one free per game in the round robin and none on Sunday.

I never called for him to be dropped. I said we need more from him. I don't think theres a better forward on the bench or in the stands available to Cork at the moment.

Cahalane, NOL and SOD have been excellent. Ok we coughed up goal chances vs both Clare and Limerick but overall they, and management, have made us much more solid defensively. Special praise to Cahalane who was clearly not the initial plan during league but every manager that comes in keeps him, he is clearly a very good player in the squad and I think his distribution has been impressive.

Coleman has improved massively. Always a nice hurler with ball in hand and some space but defensively now he isn’t the concern he once was.

The wrinkle now in the whole thing is midfield. TOC and TOM were performing well together. Ok they didn’t win the battle at the weekend but they didn’t have Fitz as another outlet - he has a very good record breaking through for scores vs Limerick. The backup plan will be interesting now - how much jigging will BOC do. Do you pull Coleman to midfield or leave him as is to keep the back 6 as is. Do you start Darragh if he only gets on the field this weekend….there is probably enough squad depth to get through the Offaly game ok but for the Galway game you wouldn’t like both TOC and TOM needing to be replaced.
