Cork Hurlers - Part 2

Not hitting the heights of two years ago but thought he came into it yesterday and is still a handful. Clare collectively lost the heads after he was nailed by Byrnes against Limerick. The performances of Rynne and Stritch were very encouraging for Clare. You'd have to hand it to John Conlon as well. Think it's no harm there's a bit more on the line now next Sunday.

Fairly pathetic out of Tipp and makes what happened last July all the more baffling if that's even possible. And to think how much worse they could have been if they hadn't got all that added motivation from Donal Og and Hoggie!
Fair play. Duly noted for future meltdowns.

Fascinating to see how involved Caroline Currid is with the Limerick Senior Hurers , she has been in doing warm ups and throwing in sliothars during warm ups , John Kiely has a right asset on his hands and must have realised it when she left in 2024 and 2025

I think I’m right but this looks like the likely routes to a final:

Win Munster:

Clare (round robin)
Limerick (Munster final)

Clare (semi final)
Limerick (final)

Lose Munster final:

Clare (round robin)
Limerick (Munster final)

3rd placed Leinster (QF)
Leinster champions (SF)
Clare / Limerick (Final)

Finish 3rd Munster

Clare (round robin)

Losing Leinster finalist (QF)
Clare or Limerick (munster champions) (SF)
Clare or Limerick (munster runner up) / Leinster champions (F)

Arguably hardest route would be winning munster.

Also know there are potential for shocks like Dublin last year.
have a feeling Cork will be a little sanguine about winning next Sunday, Getting to Munster final means another big battle with Limerick which will cost us some capital but win or lose wont really move us any closer to winning an All-Ireland. Clare obviously put in a huge shift last night whereas our week off is in our favour. Not sure about the Clare injuries-Rodgers would be a loss, our injuries could give lads like O'Brien & Walsh the chance to step up.

See your point but another way of looking at it is that if Cork are going to win an AI then consistency and a siege mentality is hugely required and why should Cork even consider losing at home to Clare when the goal is to defeat both of them and Limerick in the AI series. Cork have been the most consistent in this Munster championship with quite a few players missing and one would expect Ben to see next weekend's game as a semi-final and a real opportunity to get to a Munster final and blood more players to regular championship games. Rob Downey and Barry Walsh will surely play some part next Sunday and with home advantage Cork should go all out.
