Cork Hurlers - Part 2

Richie Hogan thought Damo was great…TOC played very well broke lots of ball to free men…Walsh Park is a horrible place to play and Waterford are a better team than results suggest…6 points in the bag with a game to spare…Happy Days..

Chat gpt, takes about 10 seconds
I like most people here was terribly worried about our defence but Ben has organised the team in a way that has meant we much more secure at the back.I am greatly encouraged by this and when Robert returns we will be better I am delighted with M Coleman he is doing his primary job and defending manfully. The defence decides who wins matches and the forwards decide by how much. I am beginning to feel slightly optimistic.

Glass half empty/glass half full...
It's your right to focus on the negatives, if you wish.
There are definitely positives - I mentioned some of them in a previous post. The principle one imo being the team as a whole defending much better.
But we've won 3 from 3 for the 1st time since this format was introduced.
1st game: beat current AI champions, 2nd game: beat current league champions and 3rd game beat Waterford in their backyard when they were desperate to win to stay in the championship.

We did this without our 1st choice full-back and centre-back, and, we kept a clean sheet at the back.
Not bad, big improvement from last year's round robin. I view that as progress.
I agree. I wouldn't question that there hasn't been progress made. But in addition to acknowledging this, it's worth bringing up the shortcomings as well - it's whether Cork can find a way to deal with these which will, imo, ultimately decide how far they can go.

Steady on the hype train lads

We have had a brilliant start to the championship and part one of the plan has been more or less achieved with one game to go which is fantastic

But we have nothing won yet, and by nothing I mean one thing, the all ireland

We had a gaping hole in the middle of our defence with the short term loss of Rob and the long term loss of Joyce, Rob will return but we still have to see if we are better set up to defeat a Gillane led Limerick, let no one kid ye on that

There are still question marks over our free taking and now penalty taking. These have not been resolved and could come back to bite us in a tight game

And there are plenty of other teams than Limerick capable of taking us down in a one off game, Tipperary, Clare, Galway and Kilkenny will be huge tests if we meet them in July

So steady as she goes for now

BE BRAVE, BELIEVE

Hayes is turning into some forward. If someone said 3 years ago he'd be an elite inter county full forward you'd have laughed. Granted waterford gave him acres room in the first half but hes a danger in every game whether it's creating or scoring. That assist for connelly against Limerick didn't get enough praise.

On another note, I see some auld bouncer was having a go at him on tfk forum because apparently he was mean to him acres months back. Couldn't hack a bit of banter i suppose 🤣🤣
