Cork Hurlers - Part 2

I thought Keating was showing something in those Munster league games but obviously he’s not doing enough in the internal games to get on the field v KK or Limerick. Unfortunately I’d say anyone named versus Offaly is unlikely to break through to first 20 based on that opponent. Hugh O Connor already has credit in the bank from KK display and a strong showing versus Offaly could get him onto bench ahead of Kingston or Robbie o Flynn for example. Lot depends on injuries obviously.

On goalie, we know what collins can do and cannot do. I'd try POS in there. If his puckouts are on the money, crisp, short and mid ones, to hand, and less of a lob on long ones, he starts. Collins puck outs were so poor vs Lim, combined with the A.I final, his confidence must be low.
If Paudie was being seriously considered he would have played more league game. Patrick will be in goal for championship
No 6 is interesting. If Coleman & E Downey are fit, they are the form players so its either Coleman, E Downey, Joyce or Coleman, R Downey, E Downey. We are well stacked here if anyone is injured. Don't play injured players like R Downey last year.
Exactly, we have 4 top class half backs, plus COB and DC who can do a job there, its just about finding the right mix or probably more importantly what way we are going to set up, ie who will be full back
Its Tim O Mahony with Tommy O'Connoll midfield. After that, its Brian O Sull for me. Mullins and Twomey have not played well enough to challenge for me.
Tim and Tommy have been my choice all year, serious mix of hurling, workrate, power and attitude in them. BOS is a long way off being next man in, Joyce and Fitzy being switched are the obvious choices for me
With Fitz wing forward, Barrett centre, if Duds out, its impossible to call, Harnedy or Dalton or Barry Walsh to start with ROF/ HOC live sub options or the opposite.
Huge options half foward alright, add William Buckley to that list too
Its Connolly, Hayes with Buckley roaming vs Tipp because they will probably play a sweeper again.
Buckley is in the driving seat for Tipp alright but Barry Walsh will push him hard and they may swop roles for the Limerick game a week later
We can go 3 man Full forward line with Barry Walsh now which is another live option for us.
Barry, Deccie and hopefully Paudie Power will give us big options inside

Having a stab off the 26 for Tipp i think they will go with

Collins
Niall, Daire, Sean
Eoin, Rob, Mark
Tommy, Tim
Darragh, Shane, Duds
William, Brian, Alan

PSull, Ger, Damien, Ciaran, Cormac, Ethan, Seamus, Declan, Hugh, Robbie, Barry, Power

How much has he played?

At least you are consistent on ET 😂
I hope ET finds his best form and quietens ppl like me this year.

On BOS, he got a 1st half vs Galway, for me he was hurling well towards the end of that 1st half, showed resilence. He has all the touches and is a long range point scorer if teams like Tipp play a sweeper against us.

He is not tall but there is so many rucks at midfield now, being low to the ground like tommy o connoll, adam english, seems to help in winning the ball.

it was the midfle aged men and women in green in the uncovered stand you should have been more concerned with. The vitriol was off the scale, closest i felt to an English soccer game, and im no shrinking violet. Ye should be ashamed of yerselves (or at least them) as we cant forget theres genuine hurling people everywhere
They must be season ticket holders. I didn't come across them for round robin where Limerick crowd were grand but did for the Munster final in same section you're talking about. Absolute scum.

I'd say Damien Cahalane and Kingston did themselves no favours v Limerick.

It might be a year too early for him considering the options we have there but you never know with injuries. Would be good to see him get a run out v Offaly.

Switch Buckley & Keating, nice experimental team. There is little point playing our 1st team and hammering Offaly, we will learn nothing.
Although I selected Keating centre-forward before because he plays there with Ballincollig, this time I selected him at 11 and Buckley mid-field because I don't think its a foregone conclusion that Tim should be mid-field. The management still have 2 matches Offaly and a league final to try Mark Coleman mid-field but playing Wm. Buckley there gives us a greater insight and I believe Buckley gives more variation and is more elusive and reliable in general play over Tim. Shane Barrett should be centre-forward and we saw Buckley there v KK. Tommy O'Connell should be a certainty by now at mid-field and hopefully Brian O'Sullivan gets another opportunity because he's at least good cover. However if you have a championship forward six for Tipp in Fitzy, Barrett, Harnedy, B. Walsh.Hayes, Connolly with Dudsy coming back I believe Buckley at mid-field could be a serious option and I'm not ruling out Brian O'Sullivan in stating same

I thought Damian did well the last day and was v good in the Munster final last year
He did fine when the ball was near to him. Struggled to track Hegarty's movement though. He might make the bench as a utility defender come championship, especially if there are injuries. My own preference (assuming everyone is available and that Daire O'Leary and Rob Downey start at 3 and 6 respectively) would be Millerick, Eoin Roche and either Joyce or Eoin Downey on the bench.

I'd love to see Darragh O'Sullivan given a run and force his way into the reckoning. He should get a chance Vs Offaly anyway.

I think the team against Offaly will have 11/12 definite championship starters. It’s too late in the league to be giving fellas a chance unless they’ve been given one already.

If we play Galway in the league final I can see Ben showing more of his hand, if it’s Limerick again then not so much.
