Cork Hurlers - Part 2

Controversial opinion here, maybe... much prefer the dastardly, dark and slightly mad KK team to the relentless, metronomic juggernaut Limerick team.

I loved to hate that KK team, they were mad fun to watch.
Their AI Finals v Tipp and that whole rivalry was brilliant as a <neutral> 😆
With Limerick it was more a case for a while of, yeah... they're great, nobody's gonna beat em, wake me up when they're gone.

Now that they're back with the pack it's more interesting 😀

Any news on Dudsy and Coleman?
BOC said something about Dudsy going for a scan around now.
Losing him for the beginning of the championship would be far from ideal
They gave ye dogs abuse in Nowlan Park after the strike, and the cunts loved it....we never did that.

True.
There was a genuine dislike between those Cork and KK teams, I mean their intent was to drive us into the ground and keep us down for years.
Now I wouldn't credit them with that, we gotta look in the mirror there.
That is definitely the reason I loved to hate them, so it was always entertaining hoping someone else would bate them.
They were proper panto bad to me.

I think there might be something similar brewing with Cork and Limerick now, so who knows, maybe I'll love to hate ye soon enough!

Regarding team selection.

I think the time for experimentation is probably gone.
I think the next two league games ( if it is two) will be putting the final touches to the Championship starting team.
Injuries are probably the only thing to disrupt that.

If everyone were fit I think most of us could pick the majority of the championship side.

Who plays full back ?
Where does Joyce play, if he plays ?
Harnedy or Healy?( I think it may be Healy to start)
The last full forward slot, who fills it ? (I think it may be Buckley).
For me these are the outstanding questions.
Ben has a bit of a dilemma

There are a good few guys who havent seen much if any game time yet but we also need to start bedding down our championship team or we will be undercooked for Tipperary

Being used to how the players around you play is a vital part of the cohesiveness required.

Will he stick with the goalie? With the full back? Who plays no 6 now? Who plays midfield with Tommy? Who replaces Duds if hes not ready? who plays at 13 come championship? And who takes our frees and penalties?

Thats alot of questions 5 weeks out from championship

I was there...coked up young wans in red jerseys booing and throwing cans and bottles.

Then again ye have been known for that for donkeys years
it was the midfle aged men and women in green in the uncovered stand you should have been more concerned with. The vitriol was off the scale, closest i felt to an English soccer game, and im no shrinking violet. Ye should be ashamed of yerselves (or at least them) as we cant forget theres genuine hurling people everywhere

Lads the vast, vast majority of fans of both teams are grand, and get on just fine sitting beside each other in the stands.

Some odd few do go mental in the heat of the game, not great but essentially bog standard human reaction to intense games.

And then there are the handful of yokes who just go to get smashed and troll.
Still a tiny minority.
I didn't see a bit of bother at any game with Limerick last year or last Sat either.
