It's not 100% yet that Limerick will be in the final even if they win tomorrow. If Galway beat Kilkenny it's basically a semi final following weekend between Galway & Limerick.
If Galway managed to beat Limerick they'd be tied on points but they'd have them on the head to head.
Now it's probably unlikely but certainly not impossible.

One great thing about the genuine squad rotation is that every player knows their place on the panel never mind the starting 15 is not guaranteed. It drives performance. When you look at the subs and add back the injured/rested players, it’s clear that some of those who are starting against Limerick on Saturday won’t make the panel of 26 for the opening championship game.

Always interesting to hear what other hurling analysts make of our lads. Former KK keeper Michael Walsh is a good analyst on KCLR radio podcast. Last Sunday he was hugely impressed with both our corner backs and William Buckley. He couldn’t believe Hayes got MOTM - thought it should have been SOD or NOL.

It’s clear that Ben is backing Daire o Leary to be our full back and this will be his biggest test
If he can survive against O Brien our full back problem is solved and our defence is selected That is the most important problem we have to solve. We need to stop conceding big scores. is Robert Downey injured and is it the same injury as last year?

Probably the number 1 priority tomorrow evening- if he passes another proper test it’s more important than winning the match for me. No reason to doubt him so far. He’s without the two star corner backs from last weekend as well!
