Cork Hurlers - Part 2

AFAIK there's no new injuries.

It's Roche, Deccie, R Downey, Coleman, Duds & Shamie.

Shamie has a hamstring issue for a while so it's bad to pccur now. Duds has a quad. Roche -long term
Coleman should be ok for Algarve next week.
Rob. - dunno but lots of injuries last season

Prob down at least 3 for 19th April.

Good that a few are putting their hands up
That's some statement. April 19 is always to go for a few of these injuries. I'd be shocked if 3 of that group aren't available. New injuries are possible however.

What was the reaction?
I think WOD was possibly trying to be a bit clever and possibly a little funny but it didn't really work and everybody just seemed confused but then he answered the question that was asked.

I think it is perfectly clear what Limerick tactics are this year.
Strong teams picked for every game, win every match and take the shortest route possible to every final.
I don't think that Cork are doing anything different.

Limerick , in my opinion, will go back to the older players come Championship and will not want to be playing any more games than they have to. I think that the short turnaround from the Munster final to their defeat by Dublin may be seen as a contributory factor to their defeat.

Watching Sean O'Donoghue defend last Sunday was so good that it was as exciting as seeing Fitz in full gazelle mode or Hayes / Connolly using the hurley like a wand to turn a decent delivery into gold.

His positioning, tackling and blocking, that calm turn to distance himself from his opponent to create the space to look up and deliver good ball out was fantastic.

Tougher tasks await but he was my MOTM last Sunday.

I don't think any management group or any player from any county in hurling or football takes any notice of what is said in the media.

It is all just hot air designed to keep the clicks up and generate some money if possible.

I have never listened to any podcast on GAA and have no intention of starting.
GAA analysis on the RTÉ highlights show is very limited. We are lucky in the modern age to have access to GAA podcasts. I, for one, crave some supplementary GAA chat and analysis. I am sure others are the same. GAA podcasts are not for everyone but there's about 5 or 6 podcasts going around and one of them might tickle one's fancy.

And on your first point, Ben O' Connor did take notice of Joanne Cantwell's comments 3 weeks ago. But for the most part, what is discussed on TV or podcasts are outside noise to intercounty squads.

I would be thinking Ben might throw another few players into the mix against Limerick? Maybe give Saunderson a start in goal? Maybe give Ben Cunningham a start? He might play Shane Kingston too. Pádraig Power has a chance?
I agree. I think Ben will freshen up things a little again this week. A team that would be a little different yet competitive. We need to keep our powder dry somewhat but still put out a team to win.

Obviously depending on injuries, you would like to see a good chunk of the following players get game time: Brian Saunderson / Paudie O' Sullivan, Ger Millerick, Daire O' Leary, Darragh O' Sullivan, Damien Cahalane, Cormac O' Brien, Ciarán Joyce, Ethan Twomey, Brian O' Sullivan, Brian Keating, Hugh O' Connor, Barry Walsh, Shane Kingston, William Buckley and Alan Walsh.

You will probably see one mainstay per line just to keep some stability to the team.

Limerick on the other hand have been using a tighter panel throughout the league but there may be some changes, especially with Darragh O' Donovan ruled out.

I see it still being a highly anticipated game with last year's Munster Final in the back of both team's minds.

You must get better insight on here!
