Cork Hurlers - Part 2

KK A v B games - in their glory era - were legendary in intensity.

Ben has serious competion now so you'd expect the same.

Power, Walsh and Joyce will get time in the 3 games.

A win v KK and we'll probably see a new record attendence v Limerick.

Shane Kingston (Douglas) will surely get some game time too if he’s fit.
Keating from Ballincollig was moving well in the Munster league game - is he worth a look in midfield?

Tom Ryan had a proper cut off Cork in his column in the rag today. He must still have issues from his time involved with Newtownshandrum. An elephant never forgets and that sums up Tom. 🤡 . Cork are really living rent free in a lot of people’s head.

He must getting on now. One of the last generation of auld lads like babs and loughnane that just said what was on their mind and didn't care who was offended.

I think that the game has changed enormously over the last two decades. For better or worse it is now an unpaid professional sport, the demands on players and management alike are enormous , the fitness and physicality has gone through the roof. Unfortunately I think certain unwelcome aspects of other sports is increasing in both hurling and football, playing for frees, feigning injury to name two.

I think people like Babs and Tom Ryan want to go back to the game of their time and maybe struggle to accept that ship has sailed.

They’d want Faith of Our Fathers played over the tannoy, the Bishop of Cashel to throw the ball in and for us all to go marching on Corpus Christi. Relics of the past. Good riddance.

Looking for attention. Limerick were no angels last few years. They and Kilkenny played a far more physical game than Cork… From what I hear, Ben O’ Connor’s statements have been received positively by players and managers alike. It’s refreshing to get a manager who speaks his mind, instead of some generic waffle
