Cork Hurlers - Part 2

Barrett could be banned for 2 games provisionally. Johnny Murphy is some boyo
Don't actually think Johnny Murphy called the reds. Barret and forde ended up on the ground at Liam Gordons feet, made it easy for him to pick them then.

Also appealing is pointless. If Barrett was reported for 'contributing to a melee' how do you appeal? Any player there Saturday evening could be reported for that. Just by being in the middle means you're contributing to it.

I'd agree with Dalton but he doesn't seem to be in favour

Haven't seen much of Coleman on frees

It didn't work for Fitz on Saturday

something we definitely need to get sorted
Dalton has started the 3 games, hes hardly way down the pecking order

Marks frees have a lower trajectory than Fitzys or Connollys which helps with accuracy from range

Could we ask Hoggy to come back?

Is it? What’s to lose?
Save the appeals for one that's really needed. If you appeal everything you'll not get the benefit of doubt in a close one. If it was championship different story. Missing Barrett for a couple of league games is no big deal.
Plus you might draw the GAA into issuing more suspensions, there's already talk this evening that more might be on the cards.
I'd let the whole thing die away now and by time Cork play again in 3 weeks people will be talking about something else.

That’s true Leeside. The other side of that is if one doesn’t appeal and if Barrett gets another red in the summer then the suspensions get cumulatively worse. Also the player might wish to maintain his good name and reputation re being known as someone who had a number of red cards.

Sheedy is on the Examiner pod this week. Normally wouldn’t listen but he is definitely someone whose opinion on Cork I would value. He was very strong on the booing/jeering of McCarthy; something I personally would completely agree with.

He also made a very interesting point about Cork’s abrasiveness / manliness whatever you want to call it. Basically saying that their tackle execution is very poor and something that will catch us in the summer. He mentioned we had conceded 1-30 against scoring 1-10 in just three games. That is massively unsustainable; giving up 11 points in free per game, whilst only scoring c 4.3 ourselves. And that can’t all be down to the refs all being out to get us 😆
