A bunch of kids booing a player who last year dalked a Cork player in the balls with his hurley and deliberately is taking as long as he can taking frees to antagonise the Cork fans (at one stage he started his routine all over again)is surely a different level of offence?

Kilkenny supporters wouldn’t cross the street to attend a game. Hurling is huge in Cork, the young people are attending en masse, and I’m sure that’s not lost on the GAA hierarchy!

This is exactly the point I have been making.. people are losing their shit naming starting 15s like once you make the decision they automatically stay fit and in form. The starting 15 is neither here nor there, the best 3 in any one line doesn’t matter either. We need a squad who can deputise no matter what, and the flexibility to alter our side to react to what we are trying to do and what we are facing

Nor have I Dagda. The real Cork supporters are unparalleled. Always show up in huge numbers, spend freely, love a bit of craic and never take themselves too seriously. The hurling championships and the GAA would be massively poorer (in all respects) without them.

Re McCarthy stuff, it’s not something I’d die on a hill over, but it was just stupid hearing the jeering when McCarthy came on. And it wasn’t just kids. Adults around me. Just nonsensical bullshit. Grown lads losing their shit over it. Pathetic stuff. But ya, I agree, clearly not on a bar with scumbags roaring racist abuse.
