Cork Hurlers - Part 2

True enough
We filled our time with watchimg the 2013 and 24 finals over the winter 😘

The trick is to go away and enjoy the league games and block out the noise that follows Cork hurling.

I’ve really enjoyed the atmosphere down the Pairc the last few years with the big crowds showing up for league games
Am I the only one who misses the Saturday night league matches in Pairc ui Rinn? I know it holds less etc (and no HT rave 😂) but I just loved the atmosphere there. Something so special about the giddy excitement of the new year, everyone all freezing and wrapped up and the buzz in the smaller stadium - just made my cold heart a bit warmer.

I certainly don’t miss going down to Pairc Ui Rinn :p

Agree with the rest though.

Bang on the money CR.
You can enjoy the league games as well as most of the bandwagon don't turn up until championship. You get genuine hurling/GAA fans. Met a few neutrals at games down the Pairc last year, they're living and working in Cork.
No hassle in the terrace with drunken youths throwing water bottles and flares.
No sh*t talk from people around you slating the ref or slating players (sometimes in earshot of players families)

I can remember when Cork played Dublin in the back door in 2016 I say, in PUR as concert down in PUC or something. Didn't even fill PUR that day but the atmosphere was something else in that tight enclosed stands basically on the sideline. Like a proper cauldron.
Cork got a narrow win, incredible game with the atmosphere - think it was like one of the first games on Sky Sports as well and the internet was imploding.

PUIC was being rebuilt at the time. 2016 was one of the worst years ever for Cork hurling. The match against Dublin and the relegation final against Galway in Salthill were the only two matches we won all year.
