Cork Hurlers - Part 2

I think that is probably close to the truth. I don't know if he was making a point deliberately or made an innocent comment which tells us more than anything we have heard since the game itself.
Either way, nothing to be gained now from looking at it too closely, move forward and hope there is a lesson learned.
I’d say no one is given PR training so anything is likely to come out. It is a consistent message with earlier interviews in the season though… thought we were ready but found out we weren’t during the game, type of thing. The performance certainly indicates they thought there was an easy AI up for grabs. That in itself is a brilliant learning for next year, Ben sorts that out and it’s half the battle.

That was the one standout comment from the interview and was very surprising and an indictment of the management group I thought. Basically, reading between the lines, they were not prepared for what everybody knew was coming.
everyone did not know what was coming. Sure place was full of “how much will we beat tipp by?” sages in the run up to the final

But for the team to be that complacent and over confident is criminal

You have nothing won till you win it

Tipp have some very dangerous forwards too that we’ve not spoken much about. Jason Forde is having a great year and John McGrath has a brilliant record in Croke Park. Jake Morris is bang in form too.
I tried to warn the PROC.

I think most people felt that if Cork played as well as they could they would win, I felt that then and I still think it now. I certainly didn't hear any sensible person talking about an easy win.

What happened on the day is hard to understand or comprehend, in one half of hurling Cork managed to make themselves look much worse than they are and make Tipperary look better than they are . For me that final was all about the Cork collapse.
Tipperary were well prepared and ready, Cork were not.
