Cork Hurlers - Part 2

In the leaba recuperating from minor injury. I therefore had the time to look at the 1992 SH Final. Whereas I attended that game my recollections are a little hazy. One thing was not at all hazy and that was the utter brilliance of Brian Corcoran. His only blemish in the game was a series of missed long range frees. In truth, the Cork bench should have removed that onus from his young 19 year old shoulders.
It really didn’t do me any good looking at that match today as it patently was a match that we should have won. I felt almost as bad as I did watching this years final, from which I am not yet cured.
A ridiculous pull by Denis Walsh on DJ to give away a penalty.
Cork best player Corcoran was marking Kilkenny worst player Shinner Brennan

After the job Brian C did on Pat Fox in the Munster Semi I could not see why he was not deputed to mark DJ . Dickie was never as excitable again as he was that day . I actually don't think anyone expected a penalty stupid and all as the pull was . To be fair we got 2 points straight after but then collapsed in the 2nd half with Ger Manley goal putting a gloss. Pat O Neil in the magic headband never played as well again. A drought followed that looks like a break between showers now......
