Was Ciaran Joyce really that good all year? Had a good Munster final but I don't remember him performing that well in any other game?
I thought Hayes and SOD were our bankers, after that we are in bonus territoryI was a bit surprised with Joyce too. But it's the All Stars, very unpredictable.
I felt Coleman was definitely better than him this year. Was Ciaran Joyce really that good all year? Had a good Munster final but I don't remember him performing that well in any other game?
Outstanding player, gets a lot of unfair criticism from Hurlers on the Ditch, corner back is the hardest position in modern hurling.Delighted for SOD.
I tend to agree and you won't hear anybody making a case for Mark Coleman's all star. Not really saying ye deserved one either btw but the media always have their darlings and their villains. Joyce is a great player but there's more in him than what he showed this year imo.I felt Coleman was definitely better than him this year.
Bryan O’Mara from Tipp was the big omission I felt. I thought he was nailed on at wing back to be honest and he had a better year overall than both Joyce and Huw Lawlor.I was a bit surprised with Joyce too. But it's the All Stars, very unpredictable.
Agree Inda. It seems however they follow a formula where provincial champs get c. 2 and maybe another 1-2 for league champs if they also get to AI final. Huw Lawlor very fortunate I would say. I would never give too much credence to all stars.Bryan O’Mara from Tipp was the big omission I felt. If I was picking the team the only change I would have is moving R.Maher to full back where he played a lot of the year and brought O’Mara into half back line . Otherwise I think the team is fair enough..
