Cork Hurlers - Part 2

Not the greatest of sources, but still
It has been reported in a few places over the last few weeks, though I have yet to see a direct quote from him. The mood music certainly seems to indicate that he will be available for selection though.

Add Hugh OConnor into that as well, he didn’t leave the football panel to ride the bench.
I think he may well be the surprise packet next year. It is clear how highly BOC rates him and I think with good reason.
However, next season will be a big challenge for him, turning 22 in 2026 and a newcomer onto an already talented squad. I think he will have a very big inter county career in hurling and is exactly the type of player we have been short of in recent years.

I was very impressed with Eoin Moloney at full back for Midleton this year. Only 25 too I think. Unfortunately, if reports are true that he ruptured his achilles, that is him 12-15 months on the sideline. But I agree, we need to look outside the box particularly for defenders. Someone like Cillian Roche from Sars might be worth a look, for example. Up the field, I would like to see Cian D'Arcy and Brian O' Sullivan called up. Hugh O' Connor from Newmarket is an interesting project. He may be a hidden gem or it won't work but worth a try based on his 2 performances I saw him for the U20s last year. Obviously up front, Alan Walsh should get a look at too. And Gavin Connolly and Paudie O' Sullivan as goalkeepers should get a look in.
Awful pity Moloney got injured. He looked exactly like the type of defender we've been lacking.
