Cork Hurlers - Part 2

Cork clubs do it when they're not involved in finals. At the end of the day these clubs are part of the organisation and will have plenty of great people putting their life into the club for the good of the community and game. Why shouldn't they use this chance to raise money? Loads of clubs struggling out there.

On tickets ... be patient. You'll see by next Thursday/ Friday they'll surface.

Maybe few did but not on huge scale. Only really became a thing last year for Cork Clare. Previously clubs generally would give tickets to club man who wanted to attend the game or send them to a club in a participating county if there was a history of sharing.

On tickets, previously they would do but last year was first year that plenty of people I'd know who'd generally pull one on the days leading up to game or day itself were left empty handed. This year will be similar.

Pat Ryan and the players must be happy out with the tipp kilkenny controversy. Not a word about cork since Sunday afternoon which will take a lot of pressure off.
2 weeks run in to an all Ireland is very short and imo sort of demeans the magnitude and build up to the final for supperters.
Although I'd say the 2 weeks is perfect for players.

I'm really not sure tbh. I've travelled to each of the games this year (like the majority of us here I assume), but unfortunately I'm not a season ticket holder, and alas I can't see where a ticket will emerge. I've already started entering raffles being run by clubs in Louth, Armagh etc, even though I think it's pretty shoddy behaviour in the first instance. Any genuine supporter looking for a ticket, I really hope you manage to get one. It is a pretty sick feeling when let's face it, much of our joy is derived from supporting our hurlers.
Ive done the same over the last few years even tho you know in lots of those draws club members are winning most of the time .. in 2021 a good Douglas man sorted me at midnight the night before the game. Best of luck with it.

Honestly I don’t care about clubs in other counties, especially those that are profiteering off of Corks hurling team by holding national draws for their ticket allocation.
That’s the antithesis of what the GAA community is about.
Profiteering is a bit strong, they are using it as an income stream to finance the club

There was a 2nd round allocation of tickets to Cork clubs last year, as there always was before. When clubs across the country handed back their tickets..
This year is the first year in my memory where there will be no 2nd allocation.
You have a lot of decent volunteers involved in running clubs across the country.. though a lot of them are newbies into admin which is fantastic but they wouldn’t be fully up to speed on the principle behind managing tickets. I know someone here in Cork who had 3 club tickets for the Munster final but due a bereavement couldn’t go. Contacted his club secretary about redistributing the 3 tickets but the secretary (newly involved) responded saying sell em away yourself.. sure that’s a total no no.

Where are we with 11 days to go? - Cork have reinvented hurling. The GAA owe Cork hurlers gratitude. Motorway Tolls should be open on AIF day. Clubs from non competing counties shouldn't raffle tickets and instead send them to Cork....The Cork county board forced to release a statement denying they were swindling ticket allocation.
One of the most enjoyable parts of the All Ireland series so far has been the utter misery spewed by bitter Limerick men like Chocolate teapot here 👆👆👆

I know loads of really good hurling people from Limerick that wouldn't begrudge Cork the possibility of winning an AI after 20 years in the abyss but then you have the likes of this fella that is absolutely freaked of the prospect :lol!:

Drink it in loser!

Are you ok 😀? It seems a bit of mild banter is enough to send you into a complete spin... maybe sit this one out kid - 11 days out and you've already lost it.

It’s the definition of profiteering!!!
Taking advantage of a situation or shortage to gain unusual or excessive profit…
the practice of making or seeking to make an excessive or unfair profit, especially illegally or in a black market.

the profit is for the club kids community. No issue with it nor would you if a club in Cork were doing it if we had no interest in the final.

I don’t understand why clubs in counties not involved are given an allocation in the first round.
And I would feel the same if my own club got an allocation for the football this year.
The allocation already has tickets being fucked around to every unit within the organisation, why send them to counties with no involvement?
