Cork Gigs 2026

Shur if you are in Cork, you'd be home and in bed by midnight.
I don't mind weeknight gigs generally, but sometimes they can be a struggle to make it to between getting out of work and getting kids to and from activities, done with homework etc.

I don't drink at gigs so that isn't an issue for me, but I can understand that for people who like a few pints on a night out a weekday gig is not as enjoyable.

Finally, I find it really difficult to come home from a gig (esp one I have enjoyed) and go straight to bed. I generally need to sit and chill for a while, wait for the adrenaline to wash out and my ears to stop ringing!

(I absolutely accept that this post is peak middle age. We are where we are...)

I don't drink at weeknight gigs any more - one eye is always on the clock if you do that, I think. Friday/Saturday through - no bother.

I live where a few city bus routes go by so most of the time I can just get a bus from somewhere on Patrick St. - provided the gig starts on time - this takes the sting out of weeknight shows too.

I get the thing about not going straight to bed. I have a ritual of sitting in my kitchen with a podcast and drinking a few glasses of water after I get home from a gig.

Word to the (middle-aged) wise; get a pair of these Loop Experience earplugs. No ringing ears and cleaner sound.
