Cork Gigs 2026

Went to buy tickets for this a few minutes ago. €67-odd per ticket!!! (Plus fees, I assume).

They were €30 in the Cyprus Avenue 3 years back. I know about inflation but I'm not earning double what I did in 2023.

I'm sure this will sell out but I can't justify that.
Who wants to see that shit in fairness?

“Sirens” play Cork Opera House September 27th, SFASH fans maybe familiar, as the collective started at an event in Shandon church: the all female lineup includes:

Lisa Hannigan, Amanda Bergman,
Kate Stables, Anna Mieke, Loah, Amano de Londra Miura and Angie MacMahon.

I saw Angie MacMahon at Saint Lukes at SFASH last year, and she was fab.

Babyshambles tonight. Jeez they were fcuking on fire. Went with low enough expectations but up there in the conversation for gigs of the year. Doherty on song and the lead guitarist was unreal.
Good Stuff. Couldn't make it. Saw them play an unreal festival set a good few years back, would have liked to have made it in. Full House?

Def not full house. Very decent crowd but noticed there was def room for a good few more. Saying that it was a Saturday night and that always increases the crowd form when the band are up for it, which they were. Pebbledash as support were also very good.

They were pushing the show really hard on Instagram in the week running up to it.

The previous gig by The Libertines was probably an easier sell to the casuals.

Thinking about it - I don't know if I have ever heard a note of Babyshambles' music.

You would be surprised. Wouldn't have had myself down as a huge fan but I knew way more of their stuff than I gave them credit for. Listen to their Live from Koko in London EP from this year for a flavour.

Wunderhorse last night in City Hall. Short enough set. Band were belting it out and I enjoyed it but must say the sound (where I was stood anyway) was shocking. Couldn't make out a word of it. Spoiled it a little. Not sure I've yet experienced good sound at a city hall gig.

Oh and no stout option when you have already had three pints of it before going in is a joke! Only options were Heineken and Orchard Thieves cider. Go way and fcuk off!!
