Taupe and Ten Past Seven playing The Savoy in June.

I don't know much about Taupe but the bog walrus boys from Kerry have always been worth seeing live.

I didn't go, Jim. I had seen Trá Phaidin in The Savoy the night before and they had played silly beggars with the stage time (even after pushing it back by an hour).

The support band (Nudy Boy Nature) were great and finished bang-on time their allotted slot.

TP fannied about - not coming on til well after the advertised time. I had to leave at quarter to midnight while they were still onstage. I had to be able to get up for work at 0600.

Also - the entire audience was talking throughout the whole show. The band were mere background noise to them.

Didn't feel like going back into The Savoy the next night and potentially dealing with the same bollix - saw a film in The Triskel instead.

The Darkness are playing The Savoy in early December.

Went to buy tickets for this a few minutes ago. €67-odd per ticket!!! (Plus fees, I assume).

They were €30 in the Cyprus Avenue 3 years back. I know about inflation but I'm not earning double what I did in 2023.

I'm sure this will sell out but I can't justify that.
