Cork Gigs 2026

Stereolab were absolutely brilliant last night, the band are so tight and together it was incredible to watch. Sadier's vocals were brilliant but I couldn't hear a word she said in between songs.

What I could hear quite clearly was every prick around me having a conversation. One fuckin' eejit stopped to talk to someone next to me on his way to the bar;

"Oh hi, how's it going?"

"Ah fantastic, fantastic. I hear you got a new job." And then a 10 minute shouted diatribe from yer man about his job.

I need to start bringing a taser to gigs.
Yeah they were great! Third time seeing them, I hope it isn't another 18 years before they play Cork again.

Really enjoyed it, have not seen them before, her speaking sound volume was a bit on the low side alright, but was just able to hear it, was in front of sound desk

ya that mid gig talking is ridiculous, but the further up you go to the front you go, the less it happens

Yep - to be fair - this was partly my own fault - we lost track of time in the pub beforehand, got in before Stereolab came on but by the time I got a drink order in (the bar staff in Cyprus Avenue were at sixes and sevens to be honest) Stereolab were on stage and we ended up a bit further back than I prefer.

Live at St Lukes looks good tonight
Lovely gig, it is quieter stuff, but loved the Piano stuff. They did about 6 Bell x1 tracks, that track “Some surprise” from the Cake Sale album, and i think all 9 tracks from the new Pilgrims album were played. He also played a great version of “Goin Back”, that track in the old ESB add, by Dusty Springfield, looked like it was almost sold out.

Yeah. I thought it was really good. The reports from the Limerick gig sound like it might have gone a little better.

i never bother with a drink at a gig, a few before it and perhaps afterwards.
