In fairness, wouldn't any of the provincial winners rather Cork or Clare than the other options? And if it's a choice between Cork and Clare there's not much in it, but I can see why someone would prefer to draw Cork.

A good win. A really good second half bar the soft goal given away which would be a worry. Limerick had the wind in that second half and the players stepped up with the aid of some tactical tweaks.

Powter is a brilliant bit of stuff. Nothing new there but he’s the glue for the whole team.

Obviously going to be raging underdogs next time out but this is bonus territory now. I’d be happy enough to see us against Derry or Galway and try rattle either. Both are potentially flaky.

Nice to win but we are so far off even the second ranked teams like Mayo and Kildare. An honourable defeat by Galway or Derry is probably the best we can hope for.
