It’s not shitting on sports that arent your preference though.
It's specifically blaming a sport for being the source of your lack of success. That's peculiar to a particular type of football supporter usually located in the west of the county

I know 3 lads who are football supporters gone to all cork games home and away this year and they were going to Dublin yesterday for hurling staying above and going to Newbridge on way down today .

Now thats what id call a genuine Cork supporter a guy who follows all things cork and not guys who get up after watching hurlers playing and leave stadium with a mocking disdain for the football team .

Id be all sports and have gone to FAI cup finals as well to support Cork City was up at mayo game but couldnt make it yesterday or today as on holiday atm .

Real supporters follow all cork teams and thats way it should be ..

Spot on. Went to many a Cork City match (like Dave Barry) on the slippery slopes of Turner's Cross. Even went to support Cork Constipation in an AIL match back in the day. It was a wholesome experience. Still have the hip flask that came with the match ticket (had to supply your own liqueur though).

If ROD wants to be an intercounty footballer he needs to leave Barryroe, end of. It's fine for a guy to play with a no mark football club if he's still playing Sigerson and u20 but if you're in your mid 20s forget about if you aren't training and playing with senior footballers week in week out.

And yet for all their talent in the last 10 years they have a combined total of 1 West Cork championship and neither club have come within asses roar of a junior county.

In terms of young talent production Ibane are easily top 10 in the county. Yet they have produced sweet fuck all at adult level. How is it proper football clubs like the Haven, Clon and Ross are still streets ahead of them at adult level? It’s because those 2 are no mark football clubs who haven’t the expertise, experience or tradition to bring young footballers to the next level.
