Yerra relax, he made a harmless joke about one of our best players who BOC tried to poach even though as a hurler Walsh would be no more than bench/extended panel fodder.

We all want Cork to win in both codes, anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional. But there is an understandable annoyance from supporters more rooted in football with the attitude from a small minority involved in Cork hurling who can barely disguise their disdain for football.

Yes the Cork senior hurling team will always be vastly more popular than the Cork football team amongst the general population of Cork but the fact is, as a sport football is more popular at club and grassroots level in Cork. More clubs, more players of all ages. The Cork hurlers on a big day out could (ticket permitting) easily bring 50k supporters to a game - but the reality is, the majority of them wouldn't attend a club game from one end of the year to the next. It's about time resources and effort at CCB level reflected that.

If our senior hurlers could muster a fraction of that team's fight and will to win then maybe it wouldn't be 20 plus years since we won Liam McCarthy.
