Cork Footballers

It seems to be part of the qualification to be a true Cork hurling supporter that you exhibit at least a mild disdain for the footballers.
Is this a joke? How many ‘Hayes should play football next year’ posts has there been in the last 24 hours?

Hurling supporters give the footballers far better support at matches than football supporters give to the hurlers.

To a degree, yes. I don't think the snobbery is there though, maybe a legacy of the footballers being the poor relation to the hurlers.
Snobbery? How many of the I’m a football man myself brigade are in Newbridge today?
I’ve already met 10 or 15 here today that were in Croke Park yesterday.
Did you venture up here yourself?

If ROD wants to be an intercounty footballer he needs to leave Barryroe, end of. It's fine for a guy to play with a no mark football club if he's still playing Sigerson and u20 but if you're in your mid 20s forget about if you aren't training and playing with senior footballers week in week out.

Now if only there was an elite senior club on his doorstep he could transfer to.....one with the best club facilities in the country, best young coach in Cork and world class S&C structures in place to support his development.....then maybe he could fulfill his potential.
I didn’t think Haven’s facilities are that good but one point you didn’t make was that they’re operating at the top end of the Championship

I know 3 lads who are football supporters gone to all cork games home and away this year and they were going to Dublin yesterday for hurling staying above and going to Newbridge on way down today .

Now thats what id call a genuine Cork supporter a guy who follows all things cork and not guys who get up after watching hurlers playing and leave stadium with a mocking disdain for the football team .

Id be all sports and have gone to FAI cup finals as well to support Cork City was up at mayo game but couldnt make it yesterday or today as on holiday atm .

Real supporters follow all cork teams and thats way it should be ..
