Cork Footballers

Lads, Chris Og had got himself into a position to receive a simple pass for an open goal near the end of the match to put the game to bed, only that 0 Driscoll didn't spot it. If he'd received that pass then many who were not there would have being saying he had a great game. I thought he had a very good game overall. In most aspects of a game, there's more in every single player on the team, Chris included.
Some of o driscolls shooting and last ball is wild and selectors will have to address that

If Brian O Driscoll could only look up more often he would be a huge player for Cork. The failure to spot Chris Og could have cost us dearly. I doubt if he could be coached much at this stage but he has a tremendous engine and is a fine footballer otherwise.
Daniel O Mahony's attempted solo with Murphy within farting distance was criminal and that's 2 goals or 6 points we squandered in Ballybofey.
Mistakes like those will have to be eliminated from now on if we are to progress. The top teams just don't make those errors. Perhaps those 'bothúns' will be worked on behind closed doors in the upcoming training sessions.?

Not trying to diminish or whatever Dano getting caught by Murphy, but no defender looped baxk inside the arc to take the pop pass, all were outside him and he had no outball option

There's a fellow on the Boards forum who ranks the teams after each round of games. Cork were ranked 7th, after the win over Meath. Now that they have beaten the then favourites (Donegal), they are ranked no 1
Take it with a large pinch of salt! :D

Quote:
  • Due to a great win over Donegal, combined with Armagh's loss to Louth, Cork take number 1 spot for the first time since August 2012!
  • Monaghan gathered the most rating points (6.7) of the weekend following a big win over a fancied Roscommon side
  • Cork, Louth, Dublin and Down all increased their worth by more than 4 rating points
  • Derry's drop to 15th leaves them at their lowest since May 2021

Best taken with a pinch of salt, like pretty much any ranking, but this one at least is based on more than simply subjective hunches. It's modelled on the IRB rankings, which are explained here: https://www.world.rugby/rankings/explanation

The Boards poster's own explanation is here: https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2057173179/football-ranking-table
