Cork could be onto something with their excellent defending and ability to score 2 pointers.

We converted 6 from 10 attempts at 2 pointers
Donegal got 0 from 2

We got 11 scores - they got 14

Limiting them to 1-13 was really impressive.

We defended for dear life, turned them over and hit them on the counter

What 6 forwards would you go with going forward will Buckley and Corbett force there way in . Was very impressed with Sean Walsh say he covered huge ground . There merit in pushing o Callaghan to half forward line and an extra scoring option

Cleary has some choices to make.

Chris Og, Sherlock, Cronin and Sheedy look starters.

Paul Walsh and McDonnell have been regular starters but you make some interesting points.

Corbett is putting his hand up and Sean Walsh will be hard to omit.

I could see Colm and Sean alternate in a game.

I suspect Corbett will stay as impact sub but for me it's 2 from Sean, Paul, Mac and Buckley. Training will be intense. At a push, I'll go Paul and Mac

Outside Sherlock, the forwards need to up their scoring rates. Chris Og seems to lack that bit of poise. If he got himself into sync and Corbett kept up his performances from the bench (again, with a little more ruthlessness in taking scores), we'd be well able for any team.

Our defence has been excellent this year, Shanley, DOM and Walsh in particular. Walsh has been a vast improvement on Maguire at centre back.

If we continue on our current trajectory I predict Shanley will pick up an All-Star. DOM not far behind him either despite his slip up on Saturday.

Think people are overrating Dublin. Just in who’s playing this week I’d have nearly every team rated above them. The reality is outside of Kerry, Armagh and Donegal there isn’t much between the rest of them.

The form line is very difficult to read. They beat Louth very comfortably in Leinster, then look at what Louth have done.

They’re not winning an AI but are absolutely capable of beating Donegal at home.

I also think there’s some exaggeration of how far ahead the top teams are. We’ve been conditioned to think there’s always a big 2 or 3 that are a level apart but I’m not seeing it at the moment. The new game also makes results less certain, even when teams seem comfortable.

I was listening to the Irish News podcast, and it’s mad how ingrained these preconceived notions are even after what we saw this weekend. Apparently Dublins only slight chance of beating Donegal was if the game was in Parnell. That’s a nonsense take considering Donegal have won just one game in 3 months.

Us beating Donegal was down to them apparently being too comfortable against us and thinking it was coming too easy. When you read reports here or from the likes of Maurice Brosnan who were at the match they provide a much better insight into what Cork were doing and how they out thought Donegal.

I do think this whole thing could be blown open. I don’t know what the odds are on none of Armagh/Kerry or Donegal being in the semi finals but I’d be throwing a few bob on it.

I thought Chris Og was our best forward in the league, just hasnt clicked yet in Championship..coud still cut loose in Croke Park hopefully

I only separated Kerry, Donegal and Armagh from the teams playing this weekend. They are the class of that group. I agree it’s not by a whole lot though. No result should be seen as shocking the rest of the year.
