Aren’t you the mighty man

Cork was poor end of story. Way too slow in build up when attacking aloud kerry time to get back inside to arc to defend against us. Rather letting ball in faster. But stayed over and back handpassing it. No drive in the second the minute kerry got to goal. Unfortunately not many turned up yesterday against a second string kerry team.

I think we might be underestimating the strength of the wind on here, Kerry got men back and made it incredibly hard to get shots off. IMO we lost it in the first half with the wind at our back, gave away easy scores and didn’t mind possession when we had it.

I really thought Sherlock was going to shoot the lights out after the sideline early on (with the wind) - but God, when he has an off day he really struggles.

If we could get a mind change in Cork football like Limerick hurling has gone through over the last 8 to 10 years, before that Limerick wer always coming close but never getting over the line. There is only a few wet rushey hills between Cork and Kerry but Kerry look like a different breed when it comes to Football. We have the talent but....

I really thought Sherlock was going to shoot the lights out after the sideline early on (with the wind) - but God, when he has an off day he really struggles.

He finds it hard to get that yard separation for a shot on a speedster like Foley. Some of his shots off the left leg in the second half were disgraceful to be honest, if we had more options on the bench he would have been whipped off. I thought we became very predictable bringing Sherlock, COJ and Cronin outside the arc when the wind meant they couldn't shoot from that far out.

Kerry warmed up into that goal and you could see each Kerry player figuring out that wind and his range in the warm up.. all well inside the D. Vast majority around 25 yards out..
It was some shambles then to see our boys struggle so bad in the 2nd half with some trying to hit shots from the D off their weak foot

Our clubs and development squads need to be encouraged and guided in how to develop our footballers' creativity and expression, our kick passing, shooting, high fielding and attacking with pace. In our development squads, we need to prioritise the development of elite goalkeepers, elite midfielders and marquee forwards. It sounds like I'm stating the obvious but it's the obvious that needs addressing.

Disband the whole structure. Back to the divisions or regions at least until the winter before minor

They’re not perfect no but disband development squads ? Every county has development squads , current minor team has players that wouldn’t have a hope of being there except they’re were picked up as part of the process and put into an environment where they were able to compete against players from Premier 1 teams and allow to develop their obvious ability sufficiently to feel confident to make the grade … disband them and you fall further behind …
