Cork Footballers

Similar to some of the league performances,
V good at times and a complete lapse for a period...

Had the job done at half time , played reasonably well, thought paul walsh had a decent game, prob the best ive seen him.

Second half, was similar pattern to some of our league games and our performance dropped off

Early 2nd half Martin went short down the middle with a kickout which was fairly poor and intercepted , end result was bod getting black card and penalty, I thought it was martin that fouled the limerick forward but I was a distance away,

Brian driscol later got a yellow which then resulted in red. Black + yellow. So effectively played maybe 25min with 14.

Big positive was
Corbett came on for mcdonnell, I thought he looked lively in half forwards and was involved in number of plays.

I may of herd wrong but I think the attendance was onlyb1700 odd, perhaps I herd wrong...

Examiner write up said Martin too and that BOD was misidentified

They also said crowd was 4700 or so

I prob herd wrong so with the crowd, 4700 sounds much better.

Still not great but
With today's opposition and all the games coming up over a short period of time in both codes and add fuel issues fair enough,

Hard to tell anything after it bar someone need to suss out the WTF happens when we go to sleep.

Corbett did OK, laid off 2 good points - needed minding (still not as waaaaa as I was thinking he'd be 6 years ago), Cahalane did OK,

Maguire did well enough when push came to shove mid second half - some sill y bits but some really clever "been around the block" stuff too

O'Driscoll (both times) was much more of a loss than you'd think - there's a load of unseen stuff going on with him around the place.

O'Mahoney and Fahy did well. Meehan is still v green,

Today’s game was similar to the hurlers playing the Joe McDonagh winners - you can’t win by enough to keep everyone happy and everyone knows losing would be catastrophic and a result of you playing terribly rather than them playing well. A few things did come out of it though:

- Sheedy is not just an outstanding prospect, he’s becoming a mainstay.
- Fahy is growing game by game and looked paddy durcan type going forward.
- Limerick should not be as successful in pressing cork kickout as they were. Corner backs going so wide has no effect when the keeper cannot kick there.
- Limerick kicked to the 7 position 4 times in first half to a free man. Can’t give Kerry that.
- I like that we didn’t show our hand to Kerry, there was a lot of off the cuff that wouldn’t happen against a good side.
