Cork Footballers

It is absolutely amazing how below average our entire kickout strategy still is considering we have had the same squad, same management, same coach for the last 4/5 years, we are way off the top teams in this regards and it just kills the team from potentially going to the next level, I think they will perform against Tyrone and could certainly win up there but the standard in division 1 is way higher and they will absolutely struggle up there even do it will be more beneficial the a decade in division 2
Not 1 full stop in that total and utter toxic, illiterate rant.

Why is it that, you have such venom towards Cork hurlers and footballers?

First of all I told ye months ago MM was the best shot stopper have by a good distance. On yesterday's game it was almost a mirror copy of the game in Tullamore, game oner at half time and also a refusal to kill off the opposition .At half time yesterday IMHO Corbett,Buckley and Cashman should have been introduced and another thing we appear to half some of the fastest backs in the country.

Still a big ask but great to be in contention. Tyrone not mathematically safe(asuming Cavan bt Offaly)so will be going allout for the win as they would be anyway-playing at home, last match before champo after a disappointing league for them. Its a good test and maybe lessons will have been learnt from Derry trip. Hope they are travelling on Sat for 1.15 match Sunday.
I would have Martin ahead of Doyle-years of poor coaching/tactics is the reason for problems with our kickouts.
It should be an enjoyable task for management to come up with kick out tactics.

Every match ( especially the crunch ones like Louth, Meath, Derry, Tyrone ) anyone attending should be seeing our lads doing pre-planned moves to give whoever is in goals an option —- & the kicker has to be backed to go for it fast (even if it backfires occasionally).

If it comes to it Brian O’Driscoll or Stephen Sherlock could take the kick ( especially if things are going to meltdown like the last 15 of the first half against Derry

At least try something ( & preferably try something that’s been practiced in training)

The lad on the podcast made a very interesting point that (against the better teams) we are not pressing up aggressively on the breaking ball — that (maybe subconsciously) lads are holding back for fear of leaving the door open at the back

Offaly leading Cavan by 5
With 20 to play

If they beat Cavan. Tyrone are safe as houses.
So in effect have nothing to play for next week.

Could be wrong now mind you

My maths has Tyrone safe anyway .

For them to go down
Cavan need to win their final game away to Derry. Not gonna happen.

Kildare would need to beat Louth by about 20points and Tyrone themselves would need to lose.

And then they might go on score difference.
But it's unbelievably unlikely.

The other aspect of it.
If they beat us next week they would be opening the door for Derry to get promoted to D1.

To say Derry and Tyrone don't like each other..
