For people who don't attend a lot of the matches (fair enough, not everybody who wants to go can go, and not everybody wants to go either), and so haven't directly witnessed enough to have a fully informed opinion themselves, CorkFootballPod describes Hurley's contribution very well in one of his videos - recommended listening. All that said, it's a team game - Hurley absolutely should be and will be on the championship team when fit, but when not fit then so be it, and the thing is for any forward to play on and off the ball with the same intensity-standard that Hurley and others have set (and we see them all trying to do that).

In any case, no matter what one's opinion, a bit of respect is due.
