Cork Footballers

If the coach is only involved part time then why not Hayes.....

All seriousness though, I don't think it's an option with modern demands. He would be pulled and dragged from pillar to post and his game would suffer.

It's a pity because he is undoubtedly one of the top 3 or 4 footballers in Cork. In a previous era Hayes would be an absolute superstar dual player.
I honestly think it's a strong argument to go to a 32 county open draw for both hurling and football one in June and one in August. Straight knockout no backdoor

It would mean that dual players would be viable for most counties.

it'll never happen but the country would be at nothing else for those months

Listen to Aidan Walsh’s very honest assessment of inter county dual
Players on the smaller fish podcast, besides the work load and different skills etc it causes way too much hassle in both panels, all grand to talk about the great old days but the modern player does not want some fella training half as much getting his place

Different argument but I'd take his point.

On the other hand it would mean superstars playing in high stakes matches for decent chunks of the summer for the bigger teams I'd be great craic but would necessitate a much much higher status league competition also

Kerry, out of self interest, would be the first to block it.
