Cork Footballers

The semi finals were an open draw
The importance of a Munster Championship for Cork would be huge , made no mistake about that along with promotion to div 1
these are the targets for the new season
The provincial Championships are still very important more since we have not one since 2012.
there s a trophy and medals to be won
it cant be just the All Ireland and nothing else .
hope is what kills us , but wright or wrong i think our graph is on the up.
Agreed about those being the targets, but imo Cork would doing v well to get just one of them. And I don't see much evidence based on the past two seasons that the team's graph is trending upwards. Hopefully we shall see some come the league.

It’s always been a balanced draw before. That’s to say 2 QF on either side of the draw, with 1 team on each side with a bye to the SF.
The structure here is different.
I didn't see the draw. But it could be argued that the outcome is fairer in one way, i.e. no team will be playing their first championship match against a team who has already played a championship match.

From a Cork perspective, I wouldn't be counting any chickens here - amongst the three other teams on our side of the draw there's some who for sure will feel that it's a good draw for them and that they have better chance than in a long time of getting to the Munster final.

I think it's a great draw for Cork.

Yes they tend to play up or down to their opponents but also they have improved with Matches the last 3 or 4 years.

Limerick and Tipp will be up for it because of the seeding thing they'll want to prove a point.. Limerick particularly after their Tailteann escapades will fancy it but Cork have their number.

Outside prospect of beating an undercooked Kerry the jump in seeding if they "only" beat Tipp and Limerick should set them up for a decent All Ireland series which at least should get some momentum in the camp.

I'm looking forward to a return of some inter county football now.

Is there anyway Brian Hayes could play both even if he missed a match here and there he’s one of the best footballers in the country
What a difference he would make

If the coach is only involved part time then why not Hayes.....

All seriousness though, I don't think it's an option with modern demands. He would be pulled and dragged from pillar to post and his game would suffer.

It's a pity because he is undoubtedly one of the top 3 or 4 footballers in Cork. In a previous era Hayes would be an absolute superstar dual player.
