Cork Footballers

Brillant article about resilence, what this fella has done to play for cork football especially in the dark times is something to behold. I hope we find others like him in the future who care for cork football
I didn't climb the paywall, but for me this man goes down as one of the inspirational greats of Cork football. I wish him all the best in his personal and professional life, and I hope we'll have him back in Ireland after a good sojourn in Australia.

Cool, and 19:45 is testament elite level physical preparation going on in Clon
The fact he outpaced seasoned intercounty players who play in the middle 8 speaks volumes. Apparently he has been doing likewise in preseason fitness tests. Incredible to think that in Clon CD would be more renowned for his skill rather than his athleticism, yet here he is outperforming guys with 4/5 years I/C training under their belts.

My understanding from speaking to someone closely linked to the Cork set up is that they have been blown away by Daly's output in the early fitness tests. His numbers in terms of speed and aerobic fitness were said to be way above expected. Again testament to the athletic development undertaken within the club from a very young age.

I can't help but wonder if all clubs were to take a similar approach to youth athletic development rather than relying on development squads, how much fitter, faster and stronger our Cork teams at minor and u20 level would be. Of course, not every club has the same human and financial resources as Clon but I do suspect there are many clubs stuck in the dark ages and it is of huge detriment to our county teams.
Oh give it a break 🤣

I heard he ate twenty eight potatoes in one sitting, one sitting I tell ya.

I’m merely stating the facts. The fact that some on here are using it to take aim at Clonakilty and Conor Daly, before he has even pulled on a red jersey, speaks volumes. The anti clon bias on here is truly disturbing at times.
Give it a rest will ya. No one is having a go at Daly or Clon, they are having a go at your stupidity

The only truly disturbing thing is your posts FoxyTravis

Give it a rest would you.
You are borderline embarrassing at this stage.

Thankfully David Buckley is back in with the Footballers. I hope Cleary gives him the opportunity he deserves given his club form.
Made my day to hear he's back in. Cork need what he has.
Agreed. Outside of Dara O'Sé and Stephen Sherlock, Buckley is the best distance shooter in Cork. Good to have him back on board. One would hope he will be given a consistent run of league games.
