Well he played with the best under 3r4 different coaches winning 4 AI medals and has spent last few yrs with another great gaa man so if he bought a few ideas from all of that lot he should be able to set up a team nicely .

D. Clifford is starting to make his own case now but Murphy is the best footballer of the past 20 years. He's easily top 20 than top 100.

A fine footballer, loved by the media for sure but not in my top 20 at all. Karl Lacey was even Donegals best player during Jimmys Phase 1. Lacey even won player of the year when Donegal won the All Ireland.. Out of tens of thousands of matches I’ve been at, Lacey in the white boots soloing down the field at 100 mph in the counter attacks tearing us to pieces was a sight I won’t forget

Don't solo, let the ball do the work. The most famous solo is Kevin Moran's in '76 and that yielded no score.
(I was at an underage summer league match last night: one solo and one hop only, double the points for putting it over the bar as to under and it was great football to look at.)

In fairness he is very physical for a corner forward. Let’s see how he does in the final.
He is a darling of the media but it’s still good to see some pundits mention that Clifford hasn’t a good record in finals.
Even Cork can manage him a lot of the time.

Personally, I don’t buy at all the All Time greatest hype. He has a long ways to go to pass the likes of Gooch and Jacko for me.
In terms of football and scoring, but not being on a winning side, Maurice Fitz was better.

Yeah I agree.

I think he's a great footballer. Gets protection from refs because if his profile and can dish it out but can drift out of games. Gooch used to disappear only to knife you in the heart. Cliff can be marked out of it
