Cork Footballers

Was always going to be thus. There is no other viable candidate outside of Haulie O'Neill and he doesn't fit the submissive personality profile required.

Given the apathy towards the team amongst Cork football clubs & supporters, the CCB know well they don't need to move Cleary on.

So why not stick with the nodding dog....a nice guy in the mould of Clownihan, Peadar the Plodder, etc, etc......why ever take the chance again on a maverick like Billy Morgan when you can go with a yes man who'll make your life easy.
I like Cleary. He's a decent man and was a great servant to Cork but I don't have any faith in him as a manager.

Sad day for Cork football if 2025 is deemed a successful year such that Cleary deserves another 3 years. We beat the mighty Roscommon and put it up to Kerry the first day. We are still light years behind other more progressive teams in terms of the 2 most important aspects of the modern game - the kick out and the 2 pointer. But sure what’s another 3 years in the wilderness. Best thing JC could have done for Cork football was to step aside. That would force the CCB to act.

The goalkeeper is an integral part of the new rules. Especially a keeper like White who can play outfield and kick long range scores.

Also the two pointer a gamechanger with the rules allowing forwards more space.

SOS vs Armagh would never have happened in previous years as he struggles to make his own space. I have no doubt Sherlock could catch fire beyond the arc at inter county level.

White and Sherlock need to be involved next year.
