I know a lad from our club and he refused to go back to rebel og u16 from being up at 6am to get to cork for training at 8 .and the gym the night before aswell .it turned him completely off gaa .he was saying 16 players walked away from cork u16 football .cant understand why it's not disvional less driving let them play a mini league between each division 30 players disvion each and let the head coach go go the games pick a few players ever month to play county teams at least ur improving football hurling even if ur not a county player clubs getting better aswellSpot on. Geography and numbers is the big problem.
We need to break down into manageable numbers. A more localized approach with better coaching and way less travel for young boys. Most of em even lads on the panel sick of it by 16.
Back to the old divisional/regional approach up to 16 years old for me.
The schools thing will only work in Cork if you have 10-12 hubs. Just a few hotspots dotted across the county would be worse than the current set up.
The hurling is more condensed and might be easier to sort than the football.
At least we are now seeing in the media what most people on the ground have been saying for a decade. Rebel Og is a disaster for everyone, players, clubs and Cork.
All of this is a test of Kevin O Donovan. He can’t blame anyone else for this one. He is part of this problem. Will he fix it or just double down like his predecessor?

Sherlock isnt up to 70 min that is the issue.Manager picks his own clubman over Sherlock
Can I get a copy of the new rules and a couple of videos posted to you?Sherlock isnt up to 70 min that is the issue.
Go back to Tyrone game last year when he started he was v poor. When used as a sub ie.Mayo match 2023 and Kerry last year he is very effective but Sherlock doesnt want to be a sub he wants to start and he not up two starting so what do you do then with him.
Comparing apples and oranges, what Sherlock could do now in the new game is being proven every fortnight, he’s the best forward in the county with a bit to spare, his scoring record for cork is as good as the current captain and always has been, a myth that he can’t last games is just that a myth, based on nothing but the myopia of someone from west cork looking at itSherlock isnt up to 70 min that is the issue.

It’s funny how when a Clon player opts out he’s selfish and lazy but when a Barrs player does the same it’s Cleary’s fault.Didn't Sherlock leave himself without being pushed?
Some say yes
He did leave himself question is why. We all knowDidn't Sherlock leave himself without being pushed?
Some say yes, others say no.
Based on last night's performance he's the best forward in Cork, but
I don't think Clon. gave him the required attention.
Expect Shanley or O Donovan welded to him in 3 weeks time in Bandon and then we'll know if he's still intercounty standard.
