Cork Footballers

difficult to get out of this abyss,
fact is we have been punching well below our weight now for a decade,
I know we have been unlucky with injuries, dual players, Aussie rules etc but other counties also have these issues.
should be at least in D1/2(top 10) and qfs every year,
something like 200 adult clubs all with a football team,
need to look for guys between 19 and 22 who have potential to develop over 3 to 5 years,
Billy Morgan did this from 2004 to 2007,
I would also even say not to bother with dual players.
200 clubs all with a football team … that’s BS , a good chunk of these are no more than social teams … anyone with a cursory knowledge of Cork GAA knows this ….

These “social teams” can produce a cork star just as well as a club like the Barrs or nemo could, obviously not the same volume of players but every once in a while it’s possible

To imply any club in cork is not worth while or trying to disregard them is a bit unfair in my opinion

I’d guess

Think McSweeney could do well with the new 2 point rule and hopefully Dano can get a good run
Praying no injuries or we’re in big trouble but they will obviously happen with Cork football

I think they will struggle hugely, very
Limited up front and at midfield, think we have some good defenders. Serious lack of depth up front relying on at least 2 players who are injury prone to say the least, still no free taker.
While I don’t think they will capitulate to anyone I would think a position broadly similar to the last few years a middling division 2 team

Conor Corbett will be out for a good while yet i presume and whats the story with Luke Fahy is he injured still i wonder ?
Sean Dore, Colin Mulloy, Briain Murphy, Sean Furey are supposed to be new to the panel...???
Dano Dineen is back again
would love to see Rory Shaughnessy , Mickey O Connell both St Michaels involved i think two very good prospects ...likewise Eanna O Hanlon if like a lot of Cork Footballers can stay injury free would be a good addition ...also would like to see young Jack O Neill of Castlehaven there and Colin Walsh before the hurlers get him !! to join his brother.

Dano and Mcsweeney are not intercounty standard. We have seen both and not up 2 it.We need new young fresh players to be given a chance.

Apologies , it is unfair …. But there are a lot of clubs in Cork which are in essence hurling clubs and the likelihood of producing an inter county senior footballer is very remote … there are Division 6 clubs in Kerry which despite very limited playing resources still produce inter county minors , 20s and Seniors
