Cork Footballers

That was to win all Irelands and I agree did more damage to football then mcguinness and the blanket yet one gets away with it due to the Dublin media monopoly.
However the terms of reference for this group are far different and it’s obvious from the trials already that long distance shooting as a first start will be encouraged
He gets away with murdering football.

He is just chairman of this group. He ain’t calling the shots if you pardon the pun!

He'd be delighted with our lads - no shots from more than 20 yards!!
Getting close to goal all well and good if you have players running at speed and able to break the tackle or pass to teammate running a different angle at similar speed
Or going over and back across the field like Ciaran Kilkenny… he became so indoctrinated that after Gavin left he had to be dropped by Farell cause he couldn’t play going forward with the ball!

I all honesty I think our main problem and main focus is forwards.
Keeper and backs I've no issue with.

Colm O Callaghan a serious operator at midfield.
So only one midfield
Maguire becomes our centre forward then.

Our forwards then need to be coached on how to kick when they're open and kick with confidence a lot of our issue stems from forwards not wanting to kick the ball.
We have a target man in Hurley but he's too much of a target so when we can't get him the ball no one knows what to do.
Fellas on about Walsh as a poor coach but one thing he has done is tighten up our back line and made us hard to beat . It's or transition and kicking is our big problem . As a poster already said more of a burden must be taken off Hurley

In terms of scores conceded in championship, we're now middle of the pack (e.g. in 9th place of the 16 teams in the group stages). Interestingly, and for all the criticism of our scoring, we are also middle of the pack in terms of scoring (e.g. 8th place of the 16 teams in the group stages). That's what it feels like as well.

I'm sure that all involved will be working on improving all aspects. Margins are slim, and seemingly-small improvements (which of course are very hard to achieve and so are not at all small achievements) make a big difference in results and how far a team gets in championship.

Those are not huge numbers by modern standards (and for all the maligned comment on football). It's Cork's scoring ability that is a bigger problem. We relied on three goals to beat Donegal who had 16 scores as you say to our 11/12 (can’t remember the exact number).
Definitely. If we converted our chances we’d be contenders for top 6.
