Cork Footballers

What team we expecting next Sunday? I’ll have a stab at the following. Doyle Shanley R.Maguire Taylor Cashman Meehan Fahy I.Maguire O’Callaghan McSweeney Buckley O’Driscoll Cronin Corbett Jones
Doyle Shanley O Mahony Walsh Taylor Maguire Meehan O Callahan Maguire McSweeney Buckley O Driscoll Deane Corbett OgJones

Was down at the game on Saturday, for the first 10 minutes plus Kerry were putting in high ball and our defence including the goalkeeper were in the horrors ,they stopped doing that and things improves . T Walsh is not a fullback and R Cahalane will have to play there unless we can develop someone else.McSweeney frustrates me plenty of ability to score but prefers to pass instead, unlike B Murphy only on for a few minutes and kicked one point. and missed another.

P Doyle

M Shanley
D O'Mahony
T Walsh

L Fahy
R Maguire
S Powter (M Taylor if Powter is not fit)

I Maguire
C O'Callaghan

E McSweeney
D Buckley
B O'Driscoll

M Cronin
C Corbett
C Jones

This is my preference, I think is our strongest team for now.
Until Brian Hurley and Sherlock come back, I would let Mark Cronin and Blake Murphy battle for the no.13 jersey.

I really wish we don't play too many midfielders in the forward line.

Let O'Driscoll, Deane and K O’Hanlon fight for one spot and you'll have good back up then.

Defensively wise, Kevin Flahive, Thomas Clancy, Mattie Taylor and Darragh Cashman would provide good cover.

Agree Blue, full back line and keeper were in trouble with high ball in first half, presume it’s D O’Mahoney you are talking about at 3? Tommy Walsh is an excellent corner back.
I think the selectors are trying to adapt the half forward line and we need someone who will kick from there, perhaps Buckley but Hess only starting off at this level

In all fairness, Seanie Shea will win a lot of high ones if properly delivered. He only scored one point from a mark. He scored 2 from frees, and both could be considered on the soft variety. I thought Flahive was the weak link in that line but he did his bit for the cause when he played outfield later.

The Half forward line, wing forwards in particular was our biggest weakness last year I thought. Buckley looked sharp the last day. He has been going great in recent months and hopefully it isn’t just a bounce
