You obviously didn't see him play in the county final when Newcestown pressed up on himWhats the story with the Dohenys keeper?
looked good in the club championship last year.
Martin has been dependable but if Doyle is better at kick out options then it’s a toss up. Derry beat Donegal handily yesterday and dominated midfield. We have the midfield to do the same, I expect Rory Maguire to start, and hopefully we’ll do the business in Ballybofey. Donegal will come out aggressively, but Derry will have created doubt, even with McGuinness at helm. We’ll see if Brian Hurley starts, but Cork can win away, and I’ll be there to cheer them on!Doyle must start next week. Fine shot stopper. Way more versatile than Martin in terms of kickout options. Plays a great ball over the top into a players stride, so vital in modern game. Well able to join and direct the general play up field and draw a defender. Closest thing to the complete package in terms of keepers in Cork.
We lost 50% of our own kickouts, do that next weekend and you can forget it
Kerry did some huge pressing of the kickout yesterday and Martin would have done no better, in fact he would probably have done worse but Martin is more trusted at this point so I’d be surprised if Doyle did start next weekend. Not sure about Pa Doyle as number one going forward, is there better options around the county? Kelly, White and Paul Shanahan to name a few
Interesting, to be fair he owes TMC nothing, was a great servant, wish him all the best in his new venture
Doyle shanley d o Mahony Meehan Taylor r.Maguire fahy I.maguire o Callaghan Mcsweeney Buckley o Driscoll b.Murphy Corbett jones is what I’d like with Cronin and Cashman making impact off bench hopefully Deane ok don’t want to lose too many options given the existing injury listWhat team we expecting next Sunday? I’ll have a stab at the following. Doyle Shanley R.Maguire Taylor Cashman Meehan Fahy I.Maguire O’Callaghan McSweeney Buckley O’Driscoll Cronin Corbett Jones
