Brian for Mark and we can talkThe consensus on the hurling forum is that MK is doing “all right “ but not worth a starting place and keeping better hurlers out..chances of getting him for football in the transfer window??

Ha tried that before…moot point anyway as the “transfer market” is probably closed until AugustBrian for Mark and we can talk![]()
Brian is equally good at both but he would make much more impact with the hurlers, the poor footballers are going to spend the next 3 years in the doldrums, not an appetising scenario when you could be playing in all Ireland hurling finalsRed i cant make up my mind whether Brian is a better footballer than a hurler but i have no doubt that mark is better at football than hurling.
Maybe we could get him to join Brian in Togher

well said by shabby , the team is physically to small for intercounty and has being for years particulary the defenceThe problem with S&C of the current bunch is that the majority of them lack natural size to begin with and a whole lot of them are still growing because they’re so young. Some of them will have a low ceiling of conditioning because of their naturally smaller size.
Just to go through the team last night we have Corkery, Taylor, O’Donovan, Herlihy, Dineen, Sherlock & O’Rourke are all naturally smaller individuals who are being worked on but they won’t ever be fully powerful enough to thrive consistently at this level. Everyone else except both Maguires and O’Callaghan also look physically limited. That’s an awful lot of guys short of conditioning for this level even if they’re trying their best.
Galway, who aren’t known to be a physical team, looked huge in comparison. Shane Walsh is probably the peak condition for this level. He is strong, quite tall but without compromising his speed which is like lightning. No matter how good our players are as footballers they will never get to that sort of level because they’re naturally stunted by size.
Really was the ref enough saidanother thing from the game was the amount of times McGuire was fouled and the ref doing nothing about it.
Would it be worth trialing a system where after the 15th foul by a team lets say the next and following fouls are penalized by a free in front of the post. It would stop consistent fouling.

Surely the person in charge of football in the County should recognise this and put a system in place immediately to develop the S&C of the younger players in the County, say from 20 - 22, before they enter the Senior squad properlywell said by shabby , the team is physically to small for intercounty and has being for years particulary the defence
