Be interesting to see the outcome of the appeals.

But in my opinion Smurph is getting a lot of what he has said correct.

The county board are only implementing rules.
Yes amalgamations are getting out of hand except in some obvious situations.

I’ve seen Amalgamations that were formed at one age group to sort a problem with a set of players.

Then the amalgamation became the norm so much so they were fielding two teams at some age groups.

This couldn’t continue.

Something had to be done.

I'm surprised there wasn't more clubs appealing. There is definitely a few clubs in North Cork alone who won't have the numbers for their own U12 team.
They may have been approved initially and did not need to appeal. I'd imagine the successful appellants in the article were initially refused an amalgamation.
