Men's 200 was good too. Demarcus Smith caught a fast moving Cork regular Ian Kerr.

They are powerful men off the blocks

Adam Gemili former Euro champ in 2014 and world champ in the relays relegated to the B race. His Nike pro kit from 3 years ago looking a bit ragged.

Shotput was a good contest but really needed an onsite commentary 3 fellas duking it out for the win at 19m mid

Nick Palmer the kiwi with the win was good craic.

We had the Vault down our end too Conor Calinan from leevale with a 4.92 PB. Very weak competition though.

Finally the mile was great. My boy Marco Langon leading.the first 11 through in sub 4.

He was great, took it on from 600m to go and didn't look back..Got a small gap on the field with The Uruguayan Catofe on his shoulder. Was playing to the Gallery in the last.50m

Course record is 3:49..I'd love to.see that go down some year. Should be very doable..

"Meet Director Mark Walk revealed that athletes from more than 30 countries will travel to Cork for what promises to be another outstanding night of athletics. The programme will feature 14 international events, alongside a strong schedule of developmental and community races that continue Cork City Sports’ long tradition of promoting athletics at all levels.

Among the highlights will be a world-class Women’s Hammer competition featuring local star Nicola Tuthill against Canada’s Camryn Rogers, the reigning Olympic and World Champion and current world number one. Walk also highlighted the exceptional depth in the Women’s 800m, which has attracted such strong interest that two heats may be required, with leading Irish athletes Sophie O’Sullivan and Laura Nicholson among those expected to compete.

The Men’s Shot Put is expected to be one of the standout field events of the evening, with international competitors from Great Britain, the Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden, the USA and New Zealand joining Ireland’s Eric Favors and John Kelly. The Mile promises to be equally exciting, with Nick Griggs leading a field where every athlete is capable of breaking the four-minute barrier.

The meeting will also showcase many of Ireland’s finest athletes, including Israel Olatunde, Molly Scott, Niamh Allen, Fiona Everard, Aoife O’Sullivan and Cathal Doyle, competing against top-class international opposition"

Mens 100 should be good with the warm evening.

Copy Hilton is back 10.1 fella who won it the last two years, he want to run for Ireland is coached by Phil Healy's coach.

Some Argie 10.1 fella is there too Franco Florio never heard of him

And Ian Kerr the Bahamian who has been here for about the last 5 years.

Really though we get to see Bori vs Sean Adbohboh. Which is the real race here.

Owen Powell from University of Washington he's the coaches Son, big Sophie O'Sullivan connection here takes on the athlete of the meet Jackson Sharp of Hoka NAZ elite 13:05 5k guy, he's very good.

Sondre Moen from Norway in there too he's about 147 years old now and more of a 10,000 fella

The bauld Cathal Doyle, he had a cracker in last years 800 sharpening the speed a few GB 1:46 fellas there Jamie Phillips and Yank Garrett O'Toole

Mile

Will Coogan, yank 5000m fella, won NCAA team famous for getting blown away in a car crash and crawling his way back to health

Adam Fogg, the fogg dog, has won team.GB bronze on the roads and the cross and has been to world's

Reubin Reina, was here last year too hopefully they push down towards a 3:52 or something

Sophie Becker is in the 200m and there us a serious looking Mens 200m with lads around 20.2 PBs Brian Faust being the only one I've heard of.

As always the shot and hammer are world class

Thanks for that dacent preview Guapo. Myself and the youngest lad will be there - as you say, balmy evening etc. You can't beat the buzz of being there live.

I can never decide where to go / sit at this meet. Thought I had it sussed last year with a decent seat arund 10m before the finish line, then smurf comes on the next day describing the fun out at the 200m mark watching the athletes set up / adjust their bocks / do the practice starts etc. We'll probably still end up in the stand though.

I tend to stand down by the shotput circle because you get that and the pole vault as well as the 3000m and 200m starts

I always move to the back straight by the hammer for the mile so you can see the move from 1300m to 1609m from up on the grass bank

I'm also partial to see HJ but its always packed that end with people seeing the end of the sprints so leave that off mostly the last few years and you have to leave something go really

All tough decisions lads. Enjoy anyway. Only got to go once in the 'modern era' about 8 years ago. Most enjoyable.
