Start Lists are up

Lacking a bit of depth this year but there will be plenty of stars on Show.

The two 3000m caught the eye

Stewy McSweyn the biggest name in the whole slate I'd say with Nick Griggs, Henry McClucky and the Belgian Vanoppen

Ellie Fulton on the women's side has made US.teams on world XC relay with GB windekind and World Orienteering champ Megan Keith. Laura Nagel and Rossi's own Niamh Allen.

Matt Rambo Ramdsden in the mile, keep and eye on Marco Langon, he was unfancied in the NCAA 5000m indoors and caught the race but the balls. Went for it from 1k out and.got caught on the line. Super talent and big cojones

Need to look on the sprint side but Coby Hilton is back after his world indoor 60 final showing and Ian Kerr won it a few years ago too

The Cathal Dennehy preview

Looks like Bori had scratched, and they sorted out a men's 800m field.. Cathal Doyle and Cian McPhillips with some Brits

Santiago Catrofe the Uruguayan fella in the mile is a sub 13 5000m fella and has no mile PB good to get a look at him

A great night of Athletics up at MTU, similar crowd to last year. Maybe slightly down but only marginally and only based on how handy it was to get parking (I was up earlier this year too though)

Got in for about 18:50 just before the main card started and plonked ourselves down by the Shot/PV end because the lads were warming up.

A decent spot but too removed from the sprints.

Women's 3000m was Megan Keith all day long she was a class apart

she squeezed the life out of it from.about 2000m, Gapped the field readily. Niamh Allen did great, hung in there and picked off a.few jerseys for about 5th.

Men's 3000m was great, Henry McCluckie with a deadly move from about 250 out. Griggs was well in the mix with the Uruguayan Soca? but ran out of steam..was full of fight. Stewy is spent I'd say faded badly when he should have been untouchable

Here is Stewy Soca and Griggs at about 2100 before the wheels came off1000031130.jpg

The women's 800m was slowish 2:02 for the Brit Seagrave controlled It from the front.

Men's was Henry Jonas CR in 1:45:25, Doyle had a great cut at 600m and hit a wall for 3rd. Cian McPhillips put another brick in a good season for 2nd. Good race

I was down at the start of the women's 200m. Got a good look at Rachel McCann, she's really tall. She looks like a short arse on telly next to Rashidat or Sharlene but I'd say she's 5'10 or so.

Had a good race. Built up from 4th and was catching Phil by the finish.

Phil went off like the clappers. Great first 50m but she was chasing the Mexican Champ Celine Tamayo-Garcia who was the class of the field..The Nigerian lady in Lane 2 ran a stormer to come up Inside for 2nd
