Cork City Sports

July 5th out in Bishopstown track at MTU

Caster Semenya declared for the 3k

No matter you feelings on DSD athletes she's a world star. Seems to have planked at the longer distances so see how it goes

Mens 3k looks like a showdown of the cream of Irish Talent - Darragh McEllhenny, Sean Tobin, Brian Fay, Hiko Tenosa and wunderkind Nick Griggs. Andy Buchart from the UK will be over too. He is a real front runner who always looks like his head will explode at any minute

Phil Healy doing the 100/400 I've only seen her run the 400 indoors yet so that should be great too.

Always a great evening which is poorly advertised and poorly supported but I'm looking forward to it after 2 years off
Fields are up. Most of the Irish scratched. Pain in the hole but not unusual

Only had a cursory look at the field so far but James West is in there Oregon Duck was part of their 4xmile attempt. Finished second in the British champs 2 weeks ago 5k

Also Emile Cairess another brit 27.44 10k guy jointly hold the british 10k record with Mo Farah.

Eric Speakman NZ provisionally selected for Com games bit got injured was told to run 13.30 5k before June 30th. Managed 13.35 in morton. Hes 31. but this is the Darragh McEllhenny show. This'll be my first time seeing Griggs on the track too

Cracking night out there with a great crowd. Darragh McEllhenny was the highlight for me. Unbelievable run from him. Cathal Doyle’s last 200m was also amazing. Sarah Healy’s determination to win was unreal. Phil Healy nailed it again. Roll on next year.

Ovett set a mile on grass world record in Tullylease up by mallow in 1977 beating out Eamonn Couglan and John Walker for the win. Wore a USSR vest for some reason (probably because he liked to wind people up) Don't know if the track is still there

I was bringing my young fella up to a little athletics thing in CIT on tues. the track is done.

There was a couple of lads fuck acting with the throwing circle but it would appear all systems are go for the 70th Cork City Sports next Tues night.

No start lists yet but they're drip feeding some info.

Mens 100m they are looking to make a splash

They got a big name in Ronnie Baker. He's a 9.78 guy. Medalist at world indoors 2018, Olympic finalist in Tokyo. Winner of about 8 or 10 DLs including Xiamen this year. He crashed out in the semis at US trials but has gone 9.98 this year.

JT Smith was 5th at US trials, has a gold medal from being in the relay pool at the 4x100m in Tokyo and is still very much in his prime.

There is a fast saffa so Hopefully our boys Israel and Bori get dragged to a few fast times

Womens 800m is well matched. Louise Shanahan is getting some fitness back and she's up against Alex Bell (Olympic Finalist, European Finalist) Mckenna Keegan Sun 2 yank ex Villanova and Samantha Watson NCAA champ 2018, World U20 champion in the 800 and 4x400m 6 years ago. She's.still going well ran 2 and change at the US trials last week in the semis.

Womens Hammer has Tuthill vs number 2, 3, 13 and 39 in the world.

Next Tues. Pray for a warm evening and a fair wind
